Happy Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! We had a great time celebrating with our neighbors. The girls, I mean Dorothy and Glinda, were pros at trick-or-treating and we have enough candy to last us for years. Hope yours was spooctacular!

Zoo Boo 2009

The girls and I, Auntie Erin, Miss Shannon and Libby Barron met at the Indianapolis Zoo for Zoo Boo last night. Thanks to the great weather and even better company, it was a total blast. We used the excuse of being downtown to continue our "girls night out" with Hot Box Pizza aka Pizza Express. Even though it was fun for girl time, "Mr. Mike" you were missed and mentioned many times! Hope you are feeling better.

Sneak Peek.....

The girls have to wear their costumes to school this week and we are planning to hit ZOO BOO on Thursday with the Barrons, so tonight after bath time we had a dress rehearsal. Emme decided weeks ago she wanted to be Dorothy. I took her to see "Wizard of Oz" last spring at a local high school and she has talked about it ever since. Since Emme was set on Dorothy and I really wanted the girls to coordinate, I asked Delanie if she wanted to be the Wicked Witch. She went along with it for a few days, but then she started to get upset about being the "wicked" witch. So, we switched gears and came up with a Glinda the "good" witch costume instead. I think it worked out perfectly! Besides a few minor adjustments...we are all set for this week/weekend of Halloween festivities.

Fall Break

I had the best Fall Break last week. We planned to spend the long weekend in Chicago months ago, but a few weeks ago, I decided to brave the MegaBus again and get the city a few days early to spend some time with the Cranleys. I spent Wed night-Friday afternoon with Duke, Sarah, Max and Tessa. It was so fun to get to know the babies more and help with feedings, diapers, snuggle with the babies and catch up with my bf. Friday afternoon, Jason and the girls arrived. The girls finally got to meet "Maxie and Tessie" after hearing about them for so long. The girls loved them and Sarah was kind enough to let them help feed Tessa and hold both babies. Sarah posted a lot of great pics on their blog: http://www.sarahandduke.blogspot.com/

Friday evening we drove from the city to Elmhurst where we visited with the Gibsons and the Hunts. Laura and Matt were gracious to host us considering they are awaiting the arrival of Baby Girl Gibson #2 in less than a week! We caught up over pizza and let the kids play.
Saturday evening we (Gibson/Oskay crew) met the Coffey's at "Mickey Live". The girls all liked the show, especially the part when they got to share seats with eachother. Saturday night we stayed with the Coffeys in Wheeling and had a great time catching up with cousin Kaitlyn, Becky and Mike. Their house looks great and they continue to make changes/updates, etc. Becky and I were even able to make a quick trip to IKEA on Sunday after church to looks for some things we both needed....er..wanted.
It was a week/weekend filled with some of my favorite people in the world, couldn't imagine a better way to spend my Fall Break.

Pumpkin Picking

My mom and I took the girls to get pumpkins today at Waterman's Pumpkin Farm after the Diabetes Walk.
The girls had a great time taking the wagon out to the patch and picking out pumpkins. So hard to believe it is almost the end of October, the 45 degree weather is a great reminder, though.

Crabapple Creek Wiener Roast

This afternoon Emme's class had a Wienie Roast at the school for the students and their families. Since Jason was at the lake with his dad, my mom went with Emme, D, and I. The weather was perfect and the girls had a blast playing oon the school's playground. I enjoyed meeting some of Emme's school friends and their families. Roasted marshmallows, hot dogs, apple cider....all signs that Fall is officially here.

Soccer Star

Emme started a preschool soccer clinic last week. The weather was pretty cool and she was already struggling with a runny nose, but she still had a great time. The clinic is one day a week for four weeks, sort of a stepping stone to actually playing on a team. There was a lot of parental participation, which I didn't anticipate, but E and I held our own. Emme even had her own cheering section...Bella and D came to watch.

Nashville

The girls and I made a trip to Nashville last weekend. We traveled south to both, see Jim and Bonnie and so I could attend a wedding. We arrived late Friday evening and visited with Jim and Bonnie in their new duplex before going to bed. Saturday morning I went for a run while Uncle Banana hung with his girls. I ran around Vanderbilt's campus, hills included. I now see why the Nashville 1/2 marathon could be pretty challenging. We went to lunch and did a little shopping and also made a stop at Gigi's cupcakes: http://www.gigiscupcakesusa.com/

Saturday evening I went to a wedding to the girls, Uncle Banana and Aunt B spent some quality time together.

Sunday morning we ate breakfast at one of our Nashville favorites, the Pfunky Griddle. It was a great trip and maybe one of our last to visit my brother in Nashville, he starts interviewing for residencies soon. Hopefully his next city will be a fun to visit!
