Christmas 2008

Our christmas was very blessed. The girls had a great time, it was the first year that Emme could verbalize her wish list from Santa. It was as follows: A bike, a baby and a magic wand. (Santa provided all of the above). Jason and I loved watching the girls get excited on Christmas morning, knowing that it was our first of many fun ahead.
There were obviously some emotional moments as we had many firsts without a very important member of our family. We celebrated the holiday, never forgetting him, but knowing that he was with us, as he is everyday. We sincerely hope your holidays were happy too and that you have a very blessed 2009.

Happy Birthday Jesus!

One of the traditions that we have in our house it to celebrate Jesus' birthday as part of our Christmas celebration. Emme had a great time making his cake and thought it was the perfect time to break out her party hat from her 2nd bday for the occasion!

Happy Bday Jason

Jason turned #32 on Saturday. We went out with family and friends that night to celebrate and were able to catch Jason's older brother, Jeff, at Crackers Comedy club. He started doing stand-up comedy a few years ago. We don't get to see his shows often, but are always proud when we do.

Delanie's First Haircut

My mom finally won the battle....Delanie got her first haircut on Saturday. She did well, but now has a newfound addiction to ring pops!

Aunt Sue

We had a great visit with Aunt Sue (Jason's mom's sister)a few weeks ago. It was such a blessing to our family to have her with us during a really difficult time. I tried to convince her while she was here to move back to IN from CA! We tried to get some pics of the girls and Aunt Sue before she left, but we didn't get any good ones...guess you will have to come back soon, Aunt Sue!

Animal Lovers

I have never been a big fan of animals, but I begged Jason for a dog 6 months into our marriage, hence our Westie, Augusta. Augusta has taken a back seat in our lives since the girls have been born to say the least. Both of my girls LOVE animals, they didn't get that gene from me. Delanie loves my moms cat and as you can see from these pics, it looks like the feelings are mutual, or at least as mutual as it can get for a cat.

A GREAT LOSS

Jason's brother, Matthew Joseph Oskay, died tragically on Friday night. He will be missed as a brother, husband, son, uncle, educator, and friend. We all miss him dearly and are just trying to honor his life, his memory and all the good he brought to our family. The girls will never quite fully know their uncle, but we have so many stories to share with them. I will forever remind them that they have their Uncle Matt's crazy, curly hair. This picture of Matt and Emme was taken last summer at our cousin Nick's wedding. It shows what a fun, loving and charismatic person Matt was.

Future Fisherwomen?

My mom said Emme spent tons of time fishing in the water during their trip to the museum. Guess she is practicing for when she fishes with her Papa at the lake.

Emme's Tunnel Shot

My mom had Veteran's Day off and generously took the girls to the museum in the afternoon after Preschool. Emme took the opportunity to take her turn at a tunnel shot or two.

Sweet Home Chicago

We had such a great time this weekend in Chicago. We got to visit friends, family, see great sights...we didn't want the weekend to end. Duke and Sarah are always a hit with the girls...I think the picture shows why.

Happy Halloween

Since we are in Chicago this weekend and not at home to trick-or-treat, we took the opportunity to spend the evening with my cousin Becky and her family. The girls had a great time trick-or-treating with their cousin Kaitlyn. Kinda scary how quickly they became pros at scamming people out of candy with their cuteness.

Lincoln Park Zoo

We decided to take the girls to the Lincoln Park Zoo today. All the times we have been to Chicago, we have never been. Upon hearing zoo entrance is free, I didn't have high expectations. THE ZOO WAS AWESOME! If you are ever in chicago, don't miss this hidden treasure.
Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures from the day since we forgot the camera. Our good friends, Duke and Sarah got engaged there three years ago, during Zoo lights. I hope to take the girls to this attraction at the zoo in the near future.

DeDe's Day Out

My mom took Delanie to the Children's Museum today so Emme and I could get our hair cut. As the pictures show, she had a blast!
