A Serious Case of Bed Head

Snow Day #2: This is how I found Delanie when I went to get her out of her crib this morning.
Dear Hair Gods,
Can you please be a little nicer to me in the future?
XO,
Delanie

Sledding!

As promised, when Daddy got home from work today, he took the girls "sledding". The first video is more like a "sledding blooper" courtesy of Emme. He even pulled the three of us, I regret that we don't have any video of that.

Snow Day

We were hit with 11 inches of snow yesterday/last night. We are officially snowed in, or at least the girls and I. We are waiting for Jason to get home for our big adventure in the snow, but I decided to take the girls out for a little taste and they LOVED it.

The best part of making cupcakes....

IS licking the beaters!
Emme had a fun time "helping" us when we made cupcakes for her birthday last week.

More Partying Pics..

Emme completed her birthday celebrations with an afternoon at the Children's museum with friends and family on Saturday. It was a pretty chaotic day at the museum, but we had a good time. We took a few turns on the carousel and explored the dinosaur exhibit.

Emme's School Celebration

Emme celebrated her bday at school today. She and I made cupcake shaped sugar cookies and decorated them yesterday for her to share with her preschool friends. They don't like you bringing in anything too messy, so we had to be creative. (The cake in the pictures is fake). It was my/our first time making sugar cookies from scratch and I think they turned out pretty cute.
*Thanks Shannon for the idea!

My "Claim to Fame"

A friend of a friend emailed me on Facebook a few months ago to tell me I was in Parents Magazine. I had written in about an article on Nashville I read while we were there in September visiting my brother. We took the author's advice and ate breakfast at a restaurant called the Pfunky Griddle. Too bad they didn't include the cute picture I submitted of us in front of the restaurant. I had to share this with all our readers, this may be as good as it gets for a mommy of 2 from Indianapolis!

A New Favorite Link

I added a new link to our favorite's today. Two of the guys Jason and his brothers grew up with are finishing up the final months of their journey to priesthood. John Hollowell was a year younger than Matt at Nativity/Roncalli HS and Jeremy Greis was in Jason's class. They both were gracious enough to co-celebrate with Fr. Pat for Matt's funeral in November, which made his funeral even more meaningful for Jason's family. John and Jeremy both returned to Nativity in the last two weekends c0-celebrate mass and give the homily. We were lucky enough to be present for Jeremy's today. Jason reminded me that they have been blogging about their experiences and I thought I would share it with all of you.
PS-Jason is so hoping to get invited to their ordinations (well, mostly the after parties)...we'll keep you posted.

Birthday Countdown

Our house is buzzing with Emme's quickly approaching 3rd birthday. She is becoming slightly obsessed and I will take the blame. I love birthdays, always have, always will. My infatuation probably stems from the fact that my mom always made a big deal of birthdays when we were growing up. On our birthday we didn't have to make our bed, we wore a button to school that said "It's my birthday", etc. etc. Jason, on the other hand, does not make a big deal out of birthdays. Needless to say, we have a few major disagreements each year in September. I have won the battle though, and our kids birthdays WILL be a big deal. The planning has been done, birthday outfit bought, 3 y/o pictures taken, cards are coming in, Emme is sneaking peaks at her gifts tucked away in the hall closet (who knew they did this so young?).

Side note: It is so hard to believe our first baby is 3!!

TLHS '97

I had an evening out last night catching up with some friends from high school. We had a great time catching up on old times, old friends, and new gossip. It is hard to believe it has been 11 1/2 years since we walked the halls of good old Twin Lakes High School.

Fashionista

Delanie has started to request a hat, scarf, and purse to accompany her outfits. I thought these pics were too cute not to post. Note the leopard print shoes in the first pic...an outlet buy for Emme that Delanie loves to wear.

"Playing Church"

I don't know if I am raising two nuns or what, but my girls are currently obsessed with "playing church". Maybe I should just be a proud Catholic parent. It is hilarious. The normal skit just involves the girls singing with their "church books", but tonight Emme even added holding up a "cross" (a plastic purple guitar). Lord, help us.
