Fair Oaks Farm Summer 2010

Mommy and Bella took us to Fair Oaks Farm on the way home from Chicago today. This was our second visit and we were really excited to see more baby cows born. We drove the tractors, rode the train, took the bus tour to the milking barns and enjoyed ice cream. The light on the birthing barn stayed red our whole visit, which means none of the mommy cows were close to giving birth. I begged(cried) for one last visit to the birthing barn before we left and as we were walking to the barn, the light changed from red to yellow. After watching for about 15 minutes, the baby calf was born! The "cow nurse" had to help pull the calf out of the mommy, but everyone was healthy in the end. Fair Oaks Farm is such a fun place to visit...if you haven't been, you should check it out.

I couldn't agree more! Every year, we travel to Wisconsin Dells to the Wilderness Water Park, and every year, we make sure to stop by Fair Oaks Farm to take part in the same experiences that you all have shared on your blog. My children, especially my four year old, enjoys seeing the baby cows born. We also enjoy a good grilled cheese sandwich and ice cream before we leave! Visiting Fair Oaks Farm has become a tradition for us as a family!

What a cute story. I take my grandson there about every 2 weeks and he never tires of going. He loves it all and he tries to tell the people in the birthing barn to be quiet by putting his finger up to his lips. Loved your story.
